Step 3

Stap 3 Google Maps API

Set up billing (step 1) Go to https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key and click on the blue 'go to console' button at the top right; You will then be automatically redirected to a page with 'create billing' button click this button to create a billing account for the Google Maps API; Select the correct country and accept the terms of service. Then click 'continue'; Enter the correct company details/payment details on this page. If you wish to use a credit card, you will immediately be redirected to the Google Cloud platform. This is the best and fastest choice. If you want to use a bank account, you must add it in the form. Later you can verify this bank account, which is done by a test payment by Google. Once this has been added, you can click on 'start my free trial'. If a message appears saying 'you cannot use this payment method for recurring payments', a credit card must first be added. This can be removed later when the bank account has been verified. You can do this by going to 'billing' in the console, then 'payment method'. If all goes well, it should now contain a credit card and a bank account. The bank account must be verified with the test payment, if this is the case you can set it as the primary payment method here. By doing this you can then take out the credit card. Set up Google Maps API (step 2) Go to https://console.cloud.google.com/home/dashboard ; Go to 'marketplace' in the menu (top left button with 3 lines underneath each other) and click on it ; Fill in the search bar 'maps javascript api' and click on it; Then click on 'enable'; Then go to 'APIs and services' in the menu and then 'login details'; Click on the 'create data' button at the top and then 'API key' . Your screen will now show 'api key created' below you will find your created API key. Copy this API and then you can close the screen and the API is ready to use.
